Climb aboard the Blues Express 🚂 for an exhilarating journey to the heart of America during the Roaring Twenties! Between effervescent jazz, contagious swing, and percussive choreography, Swing Band Cabaret immerses you in the dizzying world of New York's Prohibition-era clubs.
Led by critically acclaimed virtuoso tap dancer Aurélien Lehmann and his high-octane swing orchestra, the show pays homage to the masters of jazz—Jelly Roll Morton, Duke Ellington, Louis Armstrong, Cole Porter, George Gershwin, and more—through a colorful performance that blends dance, live music, humor, and fantasy.
A festive and immersive show that revives the soul of cabarets with the elegance of a music hall, the madness of Broadway, and the raw energy of tap dance.
Artistic intentions
Swing Band Cabaret is a joyful celebration of jazz, percussive rhythms, and artistic freedom. Through a powerful and expressive choreographic language, tap dancing becomes an instrument in its own right, engaging in real-time dialogue with the musicians. Improvisation, the heart of the show, makes each performance unique.
This project is part of Aurélien Lehmann's artistic approach: reconciling the tradition of American "hoofers" and French elegance, mixing musical rigor and popular energy, to reach all audiences.
SWING BAND CABARET
What can I say about the show? I spent an absolutely fabulous evening to the sound of turn-of-the-century jazz in the company of talented musicians and an outstanding master of ceremonies. The concert, constructed like a show, tells the story of a journey all the way to New York. The musicians will meet several acolytes during this journey.
To be honest, the evening is of excellent quality. The choice of songs, their interpretations. Aurélien Lehmann leads the ensemble, hosts the evening, sings very well and brilliantly performs the tap dance parts. Alongside him are very talented musicians: Garry Nayah, Mathieu Meyer, Jérôme Etcheberry, Jonathan Gomis . Aurélien is also accompanied by a touch of charm and humor embodied by the irresistible Ô de mon Chéri with a warm and controlled voice that will capsize you with each of his appearances.
A jazz club atmosphere, heartwarming music, and humor. We come out of it feeling lighter, as if we too had taken a bit of a journey with the SWING BAND CABARET! I loved it! Don't miss the next dates. And I'll be in the audience! Programmers, promoters, this show is a must-see! Bravo Aurélien!
